EMDR & Services
Evidence-based therapy for lasting change
Whether you're carrying the weight of past trauma, struggling with anxiety that won't ease, or navigating a period of profound change, EMDR therapy offers a gentle and effective path forward.
What is EMDR?
A therapy that works with your whole self
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing — EMDR — is a powerful, research-backed therapy developed in the late 1980s and now recognised by the NHS, NICE, and the World Health Organisation as a leading treatment for trauma and PTSD.
Unlike traditional talking therapies, EMDR doesn't require you to describe your experiences in detail. Instead, it works directly with the way your brain stores distressing memories — using bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements) to help your nervous system process and release what has become stuck.
The result is that painful memories lose their emotional charge. They don't disappear — but they no longer hold the same power over you. Many clients describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more like themselves after just a few sessions.
What to expect
A safe, structured, and compassionate process
01
Free consultation
We begin with a free 20-minute conversation — no pressure, no commitment. This is a chance for you to ask questions, share a little about what's brought you here, and for us both to sense whether working together feels right.
02
Assessment & preparation
Before any EMDR processing begins, we take time to understand your history, build a sense of safety, and equip you with grounding and resourcing tools. This foundation is essential — and often deeply valuable in itself.
03
Processing sessions
Using bilateral stimulation, we gently work through the memories or experiences that are causing distress. You remain in full control throughout — we move at your pace, and you can pause or stop at any time.
04
Integration & closure
As processing progresses, we work to integrate the changes you're experiencing into your daily life. Sessions close with grounding exercises to ensure you leave feeling settled and resourced.
